In depth

Verdict

Riguez Dancer has progressed for each outing over hurdles and the 2 1/2 mile trip should prove to be no inconvenience to Pat Haslams' charge achieving his third win this season. Slightly disappointing at Pontefract on the level last time, the selection trounced How's Business in bottomless ground at Towcester. A danger to Riguez Dancer could be Whispering Death, a smart performer for Willie Haggas on the flat but was weak in the market for his hurdling debut at Catterick and performed accordingly. That said, he was set a very stiff task to compete over 3m first time out on very testing ground and an improved performance can be expected. Previous winner Theatre Belle and Peter's Star are others that are contenders for minor honours. Peter's Star was well backed to win at Haydock last time on his handicap debut but back in novice company and with a winners penalty also, this will be tougher. Riguez Dancer has been placed very shrewdly by connections this season and can add to his seasonal tally here.
