An ordinary opener where we'll take TREVIAN to improve enough to score from Film Festival. The Tim Vaughan-trained selection was just edged out in a Southwell maiden hurdle last month and is fit and well from a summer campaign on the level. Fast ground suits the gelding and he can see out this trip and break his maiden tag. Film Festival has already enjoyed success in this sphere, and over course and distance, so there are ticks in the right sort of boxes for him. Fast ground suits, but he was anchored from this mark when last tried over hurdles and he is no good thing. Bedizen won a Stratford seller a couple of months back but went up a stone before being turned over at Bangor and looks in the grip of the assessor. Gamma Velorum will also have confidence after winning a seller but in truth this is not a huge amount tougher, so he could again go close. Black Mogul has not won in 22 attempts on the level or over jumps but comes from a yard that does well here, so he is respected, but for today we'll take a chance on Trevian. (Jonathan Doidge)
