Verdict
Not a particularly competitive heat and BREAKING STORM looks capable of following up his Market Rasen win, while That's Confidential and Any Reason could prove to be the main dangers. Breaking Storm was a six length scorer over this trip last time in a novices' handicap hurdle and he returns to novices' company here with a rating of 112, giving him the edge over his rivals. Trip and ground suit and he looks worth sticking with. That's Confidential was sharpened up by first-time blinkers at Cartmel last week, winning over a trip slightly further than this. He will be at home with these conditions again and if the headgear has the same effect a second time then he looks a threat. Any Reason is one of two Tim Vaughan-trained runners and the mare ran up a hat-trick of pointing wins before running pretty well on bottomless ground at Stratford last time. Richard Johnson is a good booking for her and she may well improve to take a close hand in proceedings. Vaughan's other representative, Saltrash, is also in decent form and gets on well with his pilot, so he can't be ruled out. Little else stands out off the page and Breaking Storm gets the nod.
