Verdict

PIPEDREAMER is our selection in this hot contest with Conduit and Campanologist served up as alternatives. John Gosden's charge reportedly needed the run last time out so his effort in the Gordon Richards Stakes is probably better than the bare line of form suggests - and that reads well enough. Trip, track and going hold no fears. Conduit is the class act as the winner of the 2008 Breeders Cup Turf. He has to give a penalty all around and this will be a tough ask first time out over a trip short of his best. Campanologist has to reverse York form with our selection to win this. With the Godolphin outfit showing patchy form, we are not prepared to chance it. Blue Monday had an ill-fated spell in Australia before returning to this country. He may need a bit more cut in the ground to be at his best. Smokey Oakey has been found out at this grade before and will need a career best. Stotsfold looked to need his first run back and should have benefitted massively for it. Cima De Triomphe was no threat in the Prix Ganay though had run with a degree of success in Italy. A strong renewal that can go to Pipedreamer.
