Treasury Counsel, Chilling Place and Swing Bill form the shortlist in this competitive opener and the vote is given to Chilling Place. The selection ran his best race for some time when finishing second behind French Saulaie at Chepstow. He clearly relishes racing on a fast surface and as that was a decent contest, a reproduction of that effort would make him hard to beat today. Treasury Counsel looks the obvious danger as he disappointed on testing ground but then showed his true form last time on a quicker surface when beating Corker at Kempton. He looks a progressive type and if he improves for that run then he will not be far away at the finish. Swing Bill was a fair second behind Fleet Street at Newbury last time but while he goes on fast ground he is probably at his best when there is a bit of cut and on that basis we will take him on today. Oslot was doing his best work at the finish at Aintree last time and there may be more to come from him, but Chilling Place looks to have everything in his favour and he gets the vote.
