Alderburn gets the nomination here with Reveillez and Cornish Sett also entitled to go well. The selection has improved with each run this season and still remains on a handy mark. He has yet to run over this trip but he has shaped as though it will suit and with ground conditions to suit he should prove tough to beat. Reveillez has an obvious chance as he won well last time but there is a doubt over whether or not he will see out this longer trip and for that reason he is passed over. Cornish Sett chased home Simon at Kempton on unsuitably soft ground. This step-up in trip and faster surface should suit and he should be capable of making the frame. Jack High is the only course and distance winner in the field and he was going well before falling in the Grand National at Aintree, so he could go well at a price but Alderburn is a progressive sort and can land the prize.
