Jakeini gets the vote over Even Bolder, Gwilym and Ballian, with Blue Aura also worth a mention. Jakeini has been on the upgrade all season, and there was nothing wrong with his latest second to Toy Top at Warwick in June when the ground was described as good. He had beaten the same horse earlier on fast going at Newcastle, and as long as the threatened rain fails to make an impact here, Ed McMahon's charge will have conditions very much in his favour. Even Bolder seems to be going the right way and hails from a stable in good recent form, but lack of experience is a negative, while Gwilym is much better handicapped than last year but needs to show more than of late. Ballian has been knocking on the door but refuses to enter, even with cheekpieces or blinkers, and Blue Aura is from a top stable but is hard to fancy on what he has shown so far this term. For the winner we return to Jakeini.
