In the claimer, the vote goes to Opera Writer ahead of Emily's Place and Maid In England. Lightly raced, Emily's Place came good in a maiden claimer last time and, faring well on the adjusted ratings, holds solid claims today. Also faring well on ratings is Opera Writer. His two recent wins have come on the all-weather but, having proven that he can compete from his current rating on Turf, looks a leading player too. Mister Maq comes here on the back of some fair runs at this type of level and could be good for a place. Finally, Maid In England came good in a seller last time but this looks tougher and Roya made late headway last time suggesting that he could be improving. Once again, though, the vote goes to Opera Writer.
