Black Rock, Spring City and Mawaared are the three to shortlist here, with Spring City nominated to lead them home. Mawaared has run twice to date, only showing a flicker of ability in two moderate affairs. She looks to be booked for third here. Black Rock made an encouraging return to action when finishing a good third at Newbury behind Diamond Cutter, in a miaden that has worked out astonishingly well. However, he failed to build on that and was a disappointment when only third over this course and distance last time. He finished behind Spring City that night, and there would seem to be no logical reason why he should reverse the placings. That was Spring City's debut run, and he can be expected to have come on for the run. Spring City can provide Kerrin McEvoy with a winner, while Dettori is on York duty.
