Verdict

Firmament has contested some tough handicaps this year and has run well on occasions. But it’s a while since he was last in the winner’s enclosure and he is still 4lb higher than for his last success. David O’Meara also runs ROUSAYAN (NAP) and he can probably be excused his latest run at Chester, where he was hampered. Second over this trip earlier at Thirsk, he has Conor McGovern’s claim in his favour here. Absolutely So won a Group 3 at Haydock last year but has not been in the same form this time around, though must have a chance in a race like this with Joshua Bryan taking off 3lb. Exchequer has been going well on Polytrack but is 0-17 on Turf and Another Boy’s two seconds this year have come in Class 5 company.
