    Verdict

Tan has won three of his fourth starts this year and the in-form Mick Appleby puts up a 5lb claimer to help offset a further 8lb rise. But Bob Cowell has a couple of interesting runners in this and his yard is also going well. OCELOT is only 2lb higher than when scoring over course and distance last year and has been running well enough this season without really threatening. This represents a drop in grade so he gets the nod ahead of the less-exposed Southwell winner Victors Lady. Compas Scoobie could easily bounce back in this grade with Wotadoll possibly the pick of the remainder despite being a pound out of the handicap.
