VENEDEGAR was second over 7f here in July and filled the same position behind the useful Waldstern over this trip at Newmarket. He is vulnerable to an improver but sets the standard here so gets the nod. Aussie Nugget was slowly away on debut at Goodwood but was staying on strongly in the closing stages and will know more today. Similar comments apply to Godolphin’s Gentle Look, who was favourite at Doncaster in July. Kosciuszko represents last year’s winning yard but has a couple of lengths to find with the selection on the form book. Newcomers to consider include Jeweller, who is a half-brother to two winners, and Mubariz.
