A competitive race to call in which we will give the tentative vote to Stevie Gee with both Salient and Compton¿s Eleven worth noting. The selection has fallen in the weights since his successful two year old career. You could say he has been a victim of his own success but now looks well capable of getting his head back in front after showing a return to form of late. He caught the eye when second to Barney McGrew at Newcastle last month and although now one pound higher in the weights, if he produces that form once again he could prove difficult to beat. Salient is two pounds higher since winning at Goodwood recently and is another to add to the short list after returning back to form so is worth noting in the betting market. As is Compton¿s Eleven who is running off a four pound higher mark since winning at Doncaster and can once again enter the frame. But for the winner we return to Stevie Gee.
