There are some interesting newcomers lining up here including the Barry Hills-trained Palamoun and Richard Hannon's Grand Lodge colt Deccan Express but those with form look useful with preference for Hurlingham ahead of Golden Balls. The last mentioned has run to a similar level of form in both starts so far and is entitled to be thereabouts again. Mick Channon's Laish Ya Hajar is bred to be useful being out of a half-sister to decent miler Zafeen, while Amanda Perrett's Perfect Reward has a good pedigree but one that suggests that he may do better with more time and a softer surface being by Cadeaux Genereux out of a Sadler's Wells mare. The vote then goes to Mark Johnston's Hurlingham, who showed plenty of promise on his Warwick debut and hails from a yard that has had quite a bit of success with their youngsters of late.
