Verdict
There was plenty to like about the way SAN CASSIANO won on his debut and he is taken to build on that and beat the likes of Chaperno and Di Stefano. Ralph Beckett's 2-year-old won well on his debut at Kempton when he beat Locksley Hall. He had clearly been working well at home as he was well punted that day and with the promise of more to come, it could be worth sticking with this useful prospect. Godolphin are in great form at the moment and Chaperno has to be respected as an obvious danger. He is eased in grade today and after being well beaten in a Group 3 last time, and at this level he is entitled to plenty of respect. Di Stefano should be suited by this drop back in trip and if Fremont wins well in the previous race, then that will give his form a boost as he finished behind him at Doncaster last time. Mon Cadeaux is the only course and distance winner in the field but he disappointed in a Listed event at Goodwood earlier in the month and he has a few questions to answer at present. It could pay to take a chance on San Cassiano in the hope that he can build on an impressive winning debut.
