A moderate affair where first-time cheekpieces might be enough to give CLOUDESLEY the edge, while Mabuya and Everaard can give him plenty to do. All of this field are exposed but the Andrew Balding-trained pick might just be able to find the necessary improvement with the headgear and the step up in trip both potential positives. Mabuya is perhaps another who might be able to find a bit extra, though given that he has gone up 1lb and already had two attempts in defeat over this trip he may already have found his level. Everaard has a win to his name and acts on fast ground. He was tried over this trip last time but pedigree suggests that he should be better over shorter and the jury is out. Wee Sonny showed up well on his handicap debut at Leicester, and he can get closely involved, but preference today is for Cloudesley.
