Menadha can make a winning debut at the expense of Straight And Level, What Katie Did and Maybe I Will to name but a few. You can always rely on Mick Channon to produce a fast and forward team of juveniles every season, and with Hugh Bowman to help, hopes are high that Menadha can go in at the first time of asking. The American-bred will no doubt benefit from further in time, but he has been well entered up, and could be sharp enough here. Straight And Level made an encouraging debut when fourth at Kempton, but had the best of the draw and may be up against some useful sorts here, not least Maybe I Will who is by Hawk Wing out of a half-sister to the 1,000 Guineas heroine Virginia Waters. What Katie Did was sixth behind a stablemate of the Hannon colt here seven days ago though, and although Jamie Osborne's juveniles are flying, he is passed over, with preference for Menadha.
