Although Michelle ma Belle has been hard to win with since she won a valuable sales race at Newmarket as a two-year-old, she is a game and consistent filly and is given one more chance as she takes her chance in a race like this for the first time. There are a host of dangers though and the likes of Lockstock, Fearby Cross and Loch Laird are all worthy of consideration in a race of this nature - as is In The Pink, who stepped up to this trip with ease when scoring at Yarmouth when she was last seen out and her connections are confident that she will be able to pay her way at a modest level this term. However, as she, like a few others in the field, may need this after her winter break, she taken on with the race-fit Michelle Ma Belle this evening. The Sylvester Kirk-trained four-year-old will feel like she has been let loose with a 9lb claimer doing the steering and, as she already knows exactly what is required of her to win a competitive race like this, she is given the benefit of the doubt after going close on numerous occasions over the past twelve months. Coranglais is an interesting newcomer to Milton Bradley's yard and he could be one to watch out for in a similar race in the weeks and months to come.
