Another race that is not easy to assess, as plenty of the field are open to any amount of improvement. However, Sailmaker heads our list of those worth considering today as there was plenty to like about the way he stuck to the task on his reappearance at Bath earlier this month. Admittedly there is little to separate the selection from Captain Marrayat and Credit as they both ran well on the same card and posted comparable times from their division of the maiden they took part in. However, Sailmaker really caught the eye as a typical improver from the Roger Charlton yard and he will be hard to pass from his preferential draw if he puts in a similar effort in trying to make most of the running today. Bailaora also created a good profile for himself with numerous good efforts during a busy juvenile campaign. However, he is more exposed than most of his rivals and it will be no surprise to see him find a few too good - while Evaluator will need to settle better than he did last time and any market confidence will give a good indication that he has handled the preliminaries a little better today. Charleston is another that is worth taking notes on as he makes his debut for John Gosden this afternoon, but he lacks experience and may just need this. So Sailmaker is burdened as the selection in a race that will be of plenty of interest when it comes under scrutiny in the future.
