In depth

Verdict

Richard Hannon has a good strike-rate here and will be hoping for an improved effort from Miss Cassia now that she has the benefit of a run already behind her. However, she was readily outpaced at Newmarket and already looks in need of at least a couple of furlongs further than this. Therefore, a chance is taken with Feminist, who has plenty of speed on her dams' side and can be expected to be ready to do herself justice now that her yard are showing signs of stepping things up another notch with their younger horses. Others to note in running are: Heart of Eternity, who was quite an expensive purchase in the context of this race and can only benefit from the run over what is likely to prove an inadequate trip. Whereas Angel Sprints is bred for the trip and will give her experienced handler a good indication of where to go with her if she shows up well today. The same comments apply to Key Secret, whose dam won over the minimum trip and is one to monitor for signs of each-way support when the market opens. However, Feminist, whose mixture of speed and stamina will be seen to good effect on this ground, appeals as the likeliest winner at this stage. The daughter of Alhaarth is also entered for a similar contest at Haydock on Friday and will be worth considering with a contingency plan there if it turns out she needs the run this evening. In which case experience is taken to count with a bold show from Miss Cassia.
