Verdict
A most disappointing turn out for the decent prize money on offer and this looks a good opportunity for Silence Is Golden with Honor Rouge the likeliest alternative. The Brian Meehan-trained Silence Is Golden proved a consistent performer last term, showing useful form to lift handicaps at Goodwood and Ascot, and was far from discredited in a Listed event at Yarmouth in September. The daughter of Danehill Dancer shaped well on her comeback at Chester, putting in her best work at the finish to be third in a competitive ten-furlong handicap. The selection is untried at this longer trip but shapes as though she will stay and looks the one to beat off her current rating. Honor Rouge completed a hat-trick of handicap wins last Summer but has been most disappointing since including on her recent reappearance and can't be backed with confidence at present despite being on a winning mark. In Luck appeared to put up a much improved effort in Listed company last time but is possibly flattered by the form and Clive Brittain's filly is probably better judged on her fifth in a low-grade handicap at Yarmouth on her previous outing.
