Arabian Star came second at Goodwood last time and showed that he had developed since debut whilst Major Conquest narrowly lost in a similar contest and should improve again here, however our choice is ALDWICK BAY who makes a first appearance for the Richard Hannon yard. As a son of Champion Sire, Danehill Dancer, much is expected of this two-year-old. Richard Hughes takes the ride and he has an excellent record at this course with a quarter of his rides on the juveniles at this track resulting in a win. Arabian Star has not delivered in two maiden starts but with that experience there could be an improvement in this race. Major Conquest was much closer to the winner in his last outing after showing his inexperience on debut at Newbury. He remains in calculations for this contest as should have come on for that run. Jaahiz also has an interesting pedigree and the market may remain the best guide to the first time runners. In this race we tentatively give the vote to Aldwick Bay.
