Walter Swinburn has a strong chance of a winner in Madonna Dell'orto after she placed third in a warm contest at Windsor in May and Frances Stuart narrowly lost last time out but we tentatively side with QUEEN'S SCHOLAR who drops to a mile for the first time. The selection lost to an odds-on favourite last time and given that she runs over a shorter distance here this may suit given the pedigree. Connections bought her for 100,000 guineas and much is expected of this Mark Johnston trained filly. This could be the right contest for her to show her potential. Madonna Dell'orto lost to two horses from top yards in her last outing and did well to get within a length of the winner considering she started as a 50/1 outsider. It is unlikely the market will be so generous this time and she also has a great pedigree. She could run our pick very close today. Frances Stuart just lost to Titbit on the all weather in her last performance and looked very green on debut two races ago so that can be forgiven. She is another that can be expected to progress well here. This is a really fascinating maiden and wide open, but Queen's Scholar gets the nod.
