Another very good race on the card and from a shortlist that includes Westmoreland Road, Gulf, Barolo and Fight Your Corner, we will opt for the first-named. While the selection has been a little bit disappointing overall, he has run very respectably in two 12-furlong events this season and, holding every chance on ratings, can improve further for the step up to a mile-and-three-quarters. Gulf has won here and, while the trip will hold no fears, he has something to find on official ratings to score today and that comment also applies to Grampian, who has also won here, while the 2002 Chester Vase winner and Derby fifth, Fight Your Corner, holds good claims on his best form but has been rather plagued by injuries and setbacks. Barolo caused a surprise when scoring in Listed company in Ireland last time out but has to carry a penalty for that success, which will not make life easy for him. In turn, it should help Westmoreland Road in his bid to get back to winning ways, and we feel he can do just that.
