    Verdict

Tamarama was progressive last year and placed again when stepped up to this trip in a handicap at Windsor on her reappearance. She should find a race like this in the near future but may find William Haggas’ colt MANDOBI, a half-brother to three winners, too strong on this occasion. The latter ran green at Haydock last year but was making up ground hand-over-fist in the closing stages and will relish the extra quarter-mile in this. The Johnstons’ newcomer Birdie Putt is a half-brother to a Listed winner in France but Newcastle maiden winner Bruno's Gold may be facing a stiff task under a penalty.
