      NEW COMEDY looks to defy a penalty having made a winning debut when scoring at Southwell in January. He may well do so given improvement is expected having undergone wind surgery since. Baltic Bird was still well beaten when third at Leicester recently but stablemate Highland Frolic cost a hefty 320,000gns as a half-brother to the high-class Palace Pier, though has already been gelded along with another expensive yearling in Vintage Valley. Duty Bound steps up from a mile on his return having placed at Nottingham last year and is preferred to Byker of the rest.
