in touch, driven over 1f out, had every chance approaching final furlong, kept on same pace
dwelt and towards rear, soon ridden along, headway 2f out, never reached challenging position
held up towards rear, effort over 2f out, never troubled leaders
prominent, driven over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, one pace until weakened inside final furlong
tracked winner, ridden to challenge and every chance 1f out, kept on same pace
chased leaders, ridden along halfway, soon beaten
prominent, ridden over 2f out, one pace final furlong
made all, shaken up 2f out, driven and kept on gamely final furlong
Filigree has the pedigree to come out on top here as she chases a hat-trick of wins in less than a fortnight, but there'll be some support too for Strawberry Moon and Dolly No Hair. Filigree's our selection though; drawn well, and although carrying top weight, is more than capable of repeating her successes at Yarmouth and Brighton, when she came from off the pace to win convincingly. Richard Guest wouldn't be sending her all the way north from Newmarket as his only runner at the track, if he didn't think she was going to land the spoils. Strawberry Moon has been placed in her three previous starts, and steps up to handicap company for the first time; the draw could well work in her favour too. And for an each way shout, Dolly No Hair has a chance of making the frame. He found the 7 furlongs here a little stiff last month but still held on for a place, and could well do so this time. But for the winner, we look to Filigree.
