    Verdict

Bryan Smart took this last year with Maze and relies on Dr Smart this year, however SEAWAY finished ahead of him on their run behind Himalya, and it is he who can get off the mark at the main expense of Free Agent. John Gosden hasn't had too much luck so far this week but that may change here with Seaway. Narrowly beaten on his debut at Haydock, he then followed it up with another good second at Doncaster. The form of that run looks solid with the winner Himalya only beaten two lengths into fourth in the Coventry earlier this week. Tudor Key should improve on his debut at Newbury where he displayed plenty of potential and the stable's horses often improve a lot for their first runs. Johnny Rook is of interest, as whilst he was beaten by nine lengths on debut, the winner has franked the form this week and he is open to plenty of improvement. Markyg and Pegasus Lad are northern raiders who could go well, with both likely to appreciate the quick ground forecast. Free Agent, owned by the Queen, was very impressive on debut and would go down a storm if successful here, whilst Imperial Guest is improving but has a bit to find in terms of class. An open affair, however Seaway can win at the third attempt.
