Nonrunner
Gulf Express is better than we have seen so far but he has been handicapping himself recently with tardy starts and we prefer the claims of the progressive PROPONENT ahead of recent winners Pevensey and Young Mick. The selection progressed from his reappearance run this season when scoring fairly readily at HQ. A 7lb rise in the weights doesn't look insurmountable, and he shapes as if he will get this trip whereas he looked a bit of a non-stayer when he was immature as a youngster. Pevensey ran a much better race last time and landed a touch in this race last year, whilst Young Mick took it two years back but has had injury problems and hasn't looked near his best this season. the hat-trick seeking Ezdiyaad is unexposed and has claims, however he isn't assured to get this longer trip and a 9lb rise in the weights makes life tougher. Capable Guest is capable on his day, whilst Sugar Ray ran well in a decent York contest recently and is not handicapped out of things as it stands. Players Please will try to give it a go from the front but may find it difficult to boss this field from his draw, whilst Night Crescendo is capable of better than recent runs. Mad Rush is yet another to consider, as his recent reappearance showed that he has trained on, however it is Proponent who receives the nomination.
