This race bears the name of a very useful stayer from Mary Reveley's stable, and the Saltburn handler can scoop the prize with old Double Blade; Rosewings, Blenheim Terrace and Jezadil look to be the biggest dangers in a tricky race. Double Blade is eight years old now, and has never been the easiest of rides, but ran his best race of the season when a close fourth in a claimer here last time, and is more than capable of winning this off a mark of just 44. Rosewings recorded her first win when stepped up to this trip for the first time at Musselburgh, and was not disgraced when fifth at Yarmouth on her only subsequent start so she cannot be ruled out. Blenheim Terrace can give even Double Balde a couple of years, but was a very easy winner from out of the handicap at Catterick last time and would rate a big danger if in the same mood here. Jezadil is a consistent filly who remains in good heart, and her recent third at Musselburgh has been franked by the winner following up earlier this week. But Double Blade generally saves his best for this track, and should give a good account here at what should be a decent price.
