The draw has done Ever Cheerful no favours whatsoever so Mr Belvedere could be the answer to a tricky opener to the card at Lingfield. With Whiplash and Alchera also respected. Mr Belvedere looked to be in need of this extra furlong when finishing behind Morse at Windsor last time, and a repeat performance here will make him difficult to master. Ever Cheerful has the ability to win a race somewhere along the line, but he has already been expensive to follow and may be vulnerable to a more progressive rival. Tardis has plenty to prove with the selection so Whiplash could be the one to give stablemate Mr Belvedere the most to do.
