Alaared is our selection with Prairie Falcon the best of the rest, but none of the five runners can be ruled out in an open race. The John Dunlop trained Alaared showed a game attitude to win a moderate maiden at Newmarket last month having twice gone close previously. But he is not a straightforward type and can be a difficult ride because he has no right eye so can sometimes run into trouble. But he is going the right way and is tough and consistent so gets the vote this afternoon. Prairie Falcon has bags of ability and could return to form here having been below-par recently. He would take all the beating if he puts his best foot forward. Tiyoun won convincingly on his only previous visit to Redcar and is another that can't be discounted. Best Port did not get the race run to suit on this track earlier in the month but still ran a blinder and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. Cheeky Girl is dropping in the weights and would have an outside chance, but Alaared is tough and our selection will be hard to beat in a good competitive contest.
