Not many of these can be given realistic claims and, in the hope that the drop in grade brings about a change in fortune, the vote goes to Everest, who is preferred to Apache Point and Baby Barry. The selection has faced a stiff task in handicaps of late but this looks an easier assignment for Brian Ellison's nine-year-old and he is taken to resume winning ways. Another old campaigner Cardinal Venture is similarly well treated on official BHB ratings but he has been well held in similar contests and may struggle to give weight away all round. Muscari is less exposed than most and a market move for the Alan Jarvis-trained filly would be of interest, while Apache Point is likely to find this tougher than the handicap that he won here last time. Baby Barry has been well placed to win his last two starts and makes more appeal than the out of form Evolution Ex but Everest looks the best at the weights and he gets the vote.
