Il Castagno is the one for us ahead of Soccerjackpot, Will He Wish and Neon Blue in the day's feature event here. Bryan Smart has his team in good shape now, and will be more than hopeful of collecting with Il Castagno, especially now that his Catterick conqueror H Harrison has since bolted up at Musselburgh. Since then the selection has run another fine race in defeat when a close third at Thirsk after trying to make most of the running. Fancied then, he just needs a little luck to get the losses back. Soccerjackpot easily justified favouritism in a Beverley maiden last time and sneaks into his first handicap off bottom weight so has to be of interest as well. Will He Wish makes a quick reappearance after returning with a bang at Haydock at the weekend, and the 11-year-old should also not be ruled out of calculations, and along with Neon Blue, adds to what promises to be a close contest, and on in which Il Castagno makes most appeal.
