Henry Bernstein is the pick over Kunte Kinteh, Greyfriars Abbey and Sofie Tucker. Henry Bernstein made a lot of the running when sixth of 13 at Newmarket last month, showing enough to indicate that a maiden is well within his compass. Granted, he is not one of Henry Cecil's big guns, and holds no fancy entries, but his recent work on the Al Bahathri gallops has been most encouraging. He gets the nod over Kunte Kinteh, a staying on second to Sweet Gale at Southwell last time. Greyfriars Abbey has not been since turning out on much softer ground at Musselburgh in November, and has a bit to prove, but will be produced as fit as possible by Mark Johnston, while Sofie Tucker is going the right way judged on her latest second to the long odds-on Costume at Ripon a week ago. She was flattered by her proximity to the winner, but is fully entitled to line up here. Tykie Two is the other worth a mention, given that Eoghan O'Neill's inmates generally improve a lot for a run, but we are happy to side with Henry Bernstein.
