An open handicap where Monsieur Dumas is taken to reverse recent form with Silly Gilly and score. The selection is 2lb better off with Silly Gilly, having been around a length adrift of that rival here over c&d last time. Monsieur Dumas had excuses, having been struck into on the nose by a whip near the finish, and with a first-time visor to sharpen him up here he can turn the tables. Ron Barr's Silly Gilly will clearly be a force to be reckoned with again and we do not oppose lightly but her strike rate is just two from 27 which is not hugely encouraging. Flashy Max is on a hat-trick and will be popular after wins at Beverley and Hamilton but this is tougher and a 5lb penalty won't help so we'll field against him. Polish Corridor came back to a bit of form last time but is better over further, Ardent Prince will surely be thereabouts given his recent running with the selection and Silly Gilly, but is finding winning tricky. Lizzie Wiggins is worth another try at the trip, while Garibaldi might find things happening a bit too quickly for him and we'll take Monsieur Dumas to score.
