Verdict
Brazilian Brush is selected to land the opener for the Hughie Morrison yard. The winner of a Goodwood handicap earlier this season, it is disappointing that he has not gone on to further success given the fact he is young sort open to plenty of improvement. Never involved last time where the strong early pace meant he could not get on terms at any point, he had shown good speed on previous appearances. Should the market speak in his favour it would be significant. Maggie Kate is another that likes to dictate matters. She finished behind two smart up and coming sprinters last time and faces nothing of that calibre in this. Barraland is exposed but continues to run consistently. He has dropped to his last winning mark but it would come as no surprise if he were to find a couple too strong. Valhillen has regularly been campaigned over six rather than five furlongs although two of his four victories have been achieved over the minimum trip on the all-weather. Brazilian Brush is taken to sweep his rivals aside and land the opener.
