A hugely competitive final to this series and Alan Swinbank's EZDEYAAD is selected to land it. There is plenty of value to be obtained and of those coming here with strong claims also include Medici Pearl, Just Bond, Gala Casino Star and Charlie Tipple. Ezdeyaad was just nabbed on the line by the Pontefract specialist Major Magpie last time out but raced on the pace for much of the journey. The front two drew four lengths clear of the remainder. With course and distance winning form and the profile of a horse who remains open to plenty of improvement, he is given the nod. Medici Pearl is finally beginning to get to grips with the game and bids for the hat-trick. She beat the exposed but consistent Blue Spinnaker last time and looks to be going forward however, any drying in the ground conditions will not suit her. Just Bond scored for the first time in 11 months last time. He clearly gets on very well with today's rider who interestingly partners him instead of the selection. Gala Casino Star posted two victories in mid-summer but since been stepped up in grade he has struggled. Charlie Tipple is the second of Tim Easterby's runners. The winner of a qualifying leg of this series, he didn't stay ten furlongs last time out but his sixth previously was achieved having played up beforehand. Michael Dods two runners Osteopathic Remedy and The Osteopath would have claims on the best of their form. Ezdeyaad is given the vote to land this wide open handicap.
