Jadanli was a surprise winner of a very eventful Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse when ZAARITO, who has thrown away numerous winning opportunities, fell for the fifth time in his last nine starts. The pair were upsides at the third last when Colm Murphy's charge departed the scene but the testing conditions probably favoured the winner while Kempes made too many mistakes and eventually pulled up. The latter's stablemate The Midnight Club hasn't quite hit the heights expected of him over fences and a third place in the Jewsons at Cheltenham doesn't look good enough though he just about holds fourth-placed China Rock on that form. Whatuthink ran a cracking race when third in the Irish National when favourite Saddlers Storm fell while travelling nicely but he's well held by Zaarito on earlier Naas running and hopefully the latter can stay on his feet and show just what a useful performer he is.
