In depth

Verdict

AVOW is the form horse in the opener and is taken to land it at the expense of Craicattack and Mrs Boss. The selection has won twice in this grade or similar in recent months. He is a tough and consistent sort that can handle himself well in his grade. He comes into the race off the back of a win at Wolverhampton and if he recaptures that form he is sure to go close once again. Craicattack won a maiden at Brighton last season and looked like horse that could develop into a fair handicapper. That was not to be the case but he has however run well in the grade and landed a similar race over seven furlongs at this venue during the winter so any market moves should be noted. Mrs Boss drops into claiming grade for the first time since breaking her maiden tag at Lingfield in February. This looks like one of her easiest opportunities for some time so she warrants plenty of respect. Avow is always competitive at this level and looks the percentage call.
