These are by no means in the Premiership of cross-country performers but the banks course ideally suits WEDGER PARDY, who has won the race for the past two years and was unlucky not to have scored in 2007. Ted Walsh's charge had a prep run on all three of those occasions and arrives here without a race since June but will have been prepared with the event in mind and is difficult to oppose. Enda Bolger has won this twice in the past 10 years when JT McNamara was on board. He takes the ride on the youngster Outlaw Pete this time and though respected his mount was well beaten on his only start over this track. Nina Carberry rides another youngster from the Bolger yard in Zest For Life but this one has a very moderate record away from the point-to-point field. Royal Ranger and Pennybar warmed up for this with victories at Tallanstown last Sunday. The latter looked in very good shape when taking a winners of one with Terry White always in command on Clare McMahon's mare who could well prove the best each-way solution at a fair price.
