At first glance this handicap looks quite competitive, however Dickie Deadeye holds very strong claims and is chosen to beat Libre & Jake Black. Course ability is invaluable here at Pontefract and Toby Balding's charge ran a blinder here last week when runner up to Melodian. Today's opposition do not appear to be any stronger and Dickie Deadeye can go one better. Libre should be spot on after two recent efforts and comes into the reckoning on some of last season's efforts. However the main threat to the selection could be Jake Black. This versatile performer holds his form really well and his recent third behind Pure Mischief on very heavy ground at Newcastle was an excellent performance so he his difficult to discount. However Dickie Deadeye, with his terrific course effort last week, is taken to oblige.
