This looks to be a fair opportunity for Word Gets Round to make an immediate impact over hurdles and Len Lungo's charge is given a confident vote after impressing with his attitude in his four starts in bumpers last season. Le Gris, Michaels Dream and Count Fosco are others to place on the shortlist and signs of confidence behind them should not be dismissed - while money for Ringside Jack will also be significant as his shrewd connections have kept him ticking over with outings on the Flat recently and he should not be underestimated despite his apparent liking for a little cut in the ground. However, Word Gets Round hails from a yard that has an impeccable record in races of this nature in the north and he is the one to be on as he embarks on the next phase of his education today. The son of King's Ride showed a good attitude when he came under pressure during his outings last season and can also draw on the resources held by his useful turn of foot if he has to dig deep near the finish. However, Len Lungo is adept at finding openings for his string and the master tactician will be disappointed if Word Gets Round does not go on to have a profitable campaign from here.
