Chosen Character is the only C&D winner and has gradually dropped back to a winnable mark being 2lb lower than his victory here last May. Flying Applause appreciated dropping back to a mile on soft ground at Leicester and won convincingly though a 6lb rise won't help. Watts Up Son ended his last campaign with a victory on soft going at Nottingham when First Class Favour was behind and, though he's had two poor runs over timber subsequently, he's not out of this on his reappearance. Law To Himself won over 1m2f at Redcar in November and is another to note but a chance is taken on EDMAAJ. He looked potentially useful in three juvenile starts for Barry Hills but didn't race last year and has joined David O'Meara, who has a tremendous record with similar types.
