Itwasonlyakiss sets a fair standard but our vote goes to TAGSEED, with Barnstorm and the newcomer Bated Breath others worthy of attention. It may be significant that William Haggas has kept our selection in training as a four-year-old and we'll take the hint. The gelding ran well on his sole start last year and the winner of that is now a fair handicapper, so with improvement entirely possible he gets our vote with conditions no problem. Itwasonlyakiss is rated 75 and sets the standard having gone very close to winning twice already. She's at home under these conditions but needed her first run as a juvenile badly and has landed a poor draw here. With that in mind she's taken on along with Barnstorm, an expensive purchase who ran better than his finishing position suggests on debut but has to prove he can improve upon it on this ground. Bated Breath is the most interesting of the newcomers being closely related to a couple of smart performers from this yard. He'll probably want a bit further than this though and can be opposed this time. Pelmanism is a full brother to the yard's Tiddywinks, a smart performer over this trip, so he's more interesting than the likes of Times Ahead and Gold Crusher who may do better when handicapping. An interesting maiden that may go to Tagseed.
