      Verdict

      A fascinating maiden for the track; Barry Hills has won four of the last ten renewals and his NIZAA is preferred to Atlantis Star and Demonstrative. A well-related US-bred individual, the selection makes his debut today at a course where his trainer has a 22 per cent strike-rate in recent seasons. Although he doesn't have a great draw, his jockey has enough experience to ride him as the pace demands and a big run is expected. Godolphin have a better strike-rate here, scoring with 8 of their last 27 runners. Their newcomer Atlantis Star is out of a seven furlong winner so this trip looks ideal and this 200,000 guineas purchase should be a player. Of those to have raced the best form belongs to Miss Taken however the feeling is that Demonstrative may improve past her. Mark Johnston's runner lost his race in the stalls on debut as he got upset but this strapping individual should be a lot wiser today. Transmit represents a yard not known for debutant winners but the booking of Graham Gibbons catches the eye, whilst Scooby Dee is a from a family who have tended to peak early so she cannot be overlooked. A fascinating race, but preference is for Nizaa.
