A very bad race in which Kathies Pet can get the better of Phillipa Yeates. Kathies Pet has reached the grand old age of ten years but she still maintains the modicum of ability that she has. Although not too well known, the rider has a 17% strike rate in hurdle races and his eight pound claim could well be a winning differential. Phillipa Yeates was well backed prior to her most recent appearance at Taunton. Her finishing position owed much to the persistence of her jockey as she never travelled at any stage. Madison Avenue's best efforts have been on a softer surface while Timidjar is a regular loser at this level. Barranco is probably a little better than his last run at the track suggests although one could not help but be disappointed by it. Of the remainder Angie's Double was well held by our selection on their last meeting in spite of market support beforehand.
