Our Piccadilly was good value for her win at Goodwood last month but an 8lb rise for that success looks harsh in the extreme and she may be best watched with a better bet looking to be NICKEL SILVER, who gets the vote over Harlech Castle. Paul Cole's colt has not raced over the minimum trip since his first two starts as a two-year-old and has struggled against the handicapper since making a winning debut in the grade in August last year. He has now though dropped to an attractive mark and has to be considered, although the drop to five furlongs is of concern. Paul Green's Feeling Fresh has been running well of late but is another that is dropped in distance and that is unlikely to suit him, while Bishopbriggs seems a shade high in the weights at present. Rockfield Lodge disappointed in a better race that this at Newmarket last time but has claims on earlier form and he cannot be discounted but preference is for Nickel Silver. Bryan Smart's gelding has yet to win a race but the son of Choisir ran better over this trip under similar ground conditions last time and he looks worth chancing to open his account today.
