Temperance can land the finale at the expense of Rainbow's Classic and Makai, with Ya Late Maite and Nimble Star a couple more that catch the eye. Sylvester Kirk has booked Frankie Dettori for Temperance who went down in many notebooks when a fast-finishing second to Bon Viveur at Windsor recently. That was only her fifth ever start, and so she should improve even more, enough hopefully to open her account here, with ground and draw a plus factor. Rainbow's Classic ran well to finish fourth on heavy ground over slightly further here in May, but should do better under today's conditions, and with his stable in form, he looks one of the main dangers along with Makai, although he has more to do than when scoring at Southwell. Ya Late Maite and Nimble Star make some appeal from those down at the bottom, while any support in the ring for the Stuart Williams-trained Rationale, who makes his handicap debut, should be noted. However, Temperance very much caught the eye last time and is selected to go one better.
