In depth
Verdict
The short list contains Kazboolou, Orpen Prince and Lordship, with the vote going to Kazboolou. Being a 42,000 guineas son of Royal Applause, and hailing from the in-form Karl Burke yard, Kazboolou, with Frankie Dettori booked, is given the vote, although the betting market should provide some clues. Of course, Orpen Prince, who hails from the in-form Kevin Ryan stable, looked a surefire winner of a race of this nature when narrowly beaten on his racecourse debut last time, and he looks a big player today. Colditz clearly appreciated the quicker going when improving from his debut to finish second at Ripon last time and holds chances again. Danger Alley did not show too much on his debut but is now fitted with a first-time visor. A 40,000 guineas son of King's Best, the Michael Jarvis-trained Lordship has to be considered, and Mark Johnston's Whiffle is entitled to come on for her promising Catterick debut. Finally, Princess Georgina has plenty to like on breeding but, for the selection, we suggest Kazboolou.
